Yoga for Grown Ups Re Imagined!

Imagine yourself by the ocean. Breathing in as the waves retreat and breathing out as the waves come up to the shore. Yoga classes by Topsy Turvy Yogi will take you on a unique journey of Body, Breath and Mind by incorporating yoga poses (asanas) and mindfulness practices that promote inner and outer body wellness.

All movement-based classes are designed to increase strength, balance, flexibility and mental focus.  

VINYASA

A style of yoga where poses are strung together to form one fluid sequence of movement.


GROW WITH THE FLOW VINYASA

Our theme based vinyasa (flow) classes are designed for beginners and novices to grow their practice in a fun and nurturing way. To maximize the benefits of each pose, yogis will discover key yoga postures that transition in a dance-like fashion while incorporating basic yoga breathing practices. Flexibility and prior yoga experience are not required as we will modify the poses for each individual’s ability and needs to help proper body alignment. This class is suited for ALL levels.  

POWER VINYASA

Step up the intensity of your practice as you continue building strength and focus. Add more challenging poses to your repertoire as we build more exciting flows together. Achieve greater clarity through meditation and learn to transition from intense activity to complete tranquility. This class is suited for yogis who have had prior yoga experience and looking to advance their practice.

ULTIMATE FLOW

When you are ready to pick up the tempo, we have you covered! Experienced yogis are welcome to this high-intensity, full body workout leaving you feeling strong, limber and focused. With intuitive sequencing, great music and guided relaxation, this class is a traditional flow packed with sass and serenity!

RESTORATIVE YOGA: 

If you've ever wondered how to efficiently use props in your home or studio practice this is the class for you. In this series yogis will learn how yoga props such as, mats, blocks, straps and blankets can support your body so that you can enhance your stretch in a relaxing state. This invigorating practice for all levels balances the nervous system by deeply relaxing the body and stilling the mind.  



YIN/YASA

Yin and Vinyasa Hybrid Yoga:

Are you just itching to try Restorative Yoga but don’t want to skip your daily workout? This is the class for you! Embrace the philosophy of yin/yang as we spend the first half of class building heat with a vinyasa flow and spend the second half enjoying some well-earned relaxation as we cool down with restorative poses. Yin-Yasa combines the benefits of a physical workout with the mental benefits of deep relaxation.


MUSICAL CHAIR YOGA

Chair Yoga: 

Have the front row seat to the most dynamic class from the comfort of your chair! This special class includes seated, standing and balance poses using a chair or stool for support accompanied by our signature playlists for added entertainment. Perfect for all levels including, people recovering from injuries and people with restrictions on their ability to move in a traditional yoga flow.


FAMILY YOGA


Family Yoga: 

Our family yoga follows the same curriculum as our children’s yoga classes, but adults get in on the fun too! In these sessions, one of our amazing instructors will take your family on a storybook adventure incorporating adult/child partner poses and family fun mindfulness techniques. Children get all the benefits of yoga through play and grown-ups get a full yoga workout!

MYTHOLOGY AND YOGA

Why should kids get all the fun of a storytelling yoga class? In this vinyasa-style class, learn about the Hindu myths that inspired the poses in your practice.

KOSHER KLASSES

Our Jewish yoga classes are just as peaceful and rewarding as baking a challah. Kosher Klasses will explore the similarities between the philosophy of yoga and the teachings of the Torah through movement and mindfulness. This class is suitable for ALL abilities and will be modified to individual needs and levels of worship.

VITALITY YOGA

Learn about your chakras and how to open them through specific yoga poses that awaken our greatest energies. Book a single class for a chakra overview or book the whole 7-class series to devote a full hour to opening each of the seven main chakras. Add an optional eighth class to pull everything together for deeper understanding.

HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS YOGA

Whether its New Year’s Eve or Groundhogs Day you can bet we have a class for that! We love holidays and want to help you embrace that special time of year by incorporating the philosophical themes that make each holiday unique into your yoga practice.

INSIDE OUT YOGA: EXPLORING THE PERSONAL YAMAS AND NIYAMAS 

Live the life of an open book! Yama and Niyamas represent ethical rules within yoga, and include the concepts of self-restraint in one's thoughts, speech and actions. This class takes yogis on an epic adventure into the soul as we apply these moral guidelines to the vinyasa practice at the level of your choice. Following the physical practice, yogis will dive into the art of meditative writing or drawing (journaling) which presents an opportunity for emotional catharsis providing a greater sense of confidence and self-identity.

Designer Classes

Topsy Turvy Yogi will create a “fashion forward” custom class or workshop designed specifically for you or a group of friends.

MEDITATION CLASSES

Meditating regularly can lower blood pressure, reduce stress, and increase our focus, self-awareness, patience and tolerance. Many people believe that they can’t meditate because they can’t or don’t like to sit still, but this is profoundly untrue. Meditation is not a one-size fits all, just like one particular form of exercise doesn’t work for all people. Let us custom design a meditation program for you that gives you all the benefits of meditating while doing something that you enjoy.
